A story problem with simultaneous equations

I've got lots to do before we move to Mystery U.
I want to minimize the amount of time that Minnow spends in daycare.

In order to get work done, I need more time and energy.
In order to have more time and energy, I need more sleep and exercise.
Sleep and exercise require time and energy.

I can't figure out how to solve the above equations without invoking imaginary numbers, so I am going to have to figure out what I can let slide. And, unfortunately, blogging is one of the easiest targets. So posting is going to be pretty light around here for a while. I'm not giving it up, just easing back on the throttle. [And you thought I already had, huh? :)]

But before I go, I thought I'd share a recent photo of Minnow (who turns three months old today).

Oops. You missed it. Too Bad!

she's so cute! Good luck with getting things done. I'm fighting this find-time-for-everything equation myself right now, and I wish I had the answers.

So adorable!

I thought one of the advantages of mystery U was its proximity to Utopia, meaning you wouldn't have to move? Not the case?

The solution is obvious: Clone yourself! :)

Minnow is so cute!

sonnjea b: Nope, Mystery U is far far away from Utopia. In fact, its hard to get much farther and still be in the same country.

jane: Too bad cloning isn't my field! And I'm sure baby jane will give her a run for her money in the cuteness department.

Minnow is so cute! Good luck with finding more 'balance' (ie dealing with the mounds of things). Don't forget to enjoy Minnow!

What a cutie! :)
Hope you find ways to get all the important stuff to fit into the time you have

Have minnow write your papers.

Congratulations on getting the position at Mystery U--that's tremendous. And especially on navigating the rapids with the sleep deprivation that comes with pregnancy and infancy.

Minnow is adorable! And I love the little sidebar on your blog (I Make Milk...What's Your Superpower?).

I'll pass along something I wish I'd known--babyhood is very, very short. My daughter started walking at 11 months, and I realized that officially she was a toddler instead of a baby. Somehow I thought it lasted longer.

I think you are doing a great job so far. Don't worry about the blogging, just post an occasional update (very occasional).

How long has minnow been interested in colorful dangly things?

Minnow is beatiful and kudos on the job at Mystery U!

My advice for getting things done and still spending as much time as possible kissing soft baby cheeks is to hire other people to do the work so I can watch the baby. Obvisouly I don't mean my academic work, but pretty much anything else I'll try to hire out. Instead of packing up the contents of my kitchen, I paid someone else to do that and took my baby to the park. Best money ever spent!
