Muddy

Jo(e) says that the word of the day is "muddy", and I immediately knew what I wanted to post. Here's a picture of me a few years ago after a particularly strenuous and soppy day in the field. But it was worth it - I was exploring a new field area - and it has turned out to be pretty important to my research. Plus, I've always just enjoyed the mud.

That looks like it was fun! When I was around 10 yrs old we lived on the Mississippi River. During the summer, the water levels would drop and expose deep, mucky mud. My sister and I would wear shorts and walk around in it up to our calves. We jumped off of a rock and made a "splut" sound as the mud sucked us in up to our knees. It was fun being a kid, though I must admit I would probably still do it today!
